Recorder Class - June 12, 2012

We will begin to learn to play the recorder. If you are unfamiliar with a recorder, go to amazon.com and in their musical instrument section you can find a variety of recorders. Most are inexpensive, but the price can go much higher with a more elaborate instrument. If you have never played recorder before, I recommend that you start with a soprano recorder. The recorder is not hard to learn. It is helpful to know how to read notes, but I will cover some of the notes in class. Eventually, you will learn the notes of the C scale and how to play them on the recorder. We will start with one note, and will add new notes with each class. The classes are very short and are geared for children or even adults who want to learn how to play the recorder. I will also have videos on Youtube that I have found that will also be helpful in learning to play the recorder and to learn music appreciation.
